2014 Softball NL Junior Female Player of the Year: Sami Kennedy
Samantha (Sami) Kennedy was nominated for the 2014 Junior Female Softball Player of the Year by the Coors Light Ladies Softball League.
As a member of the Roebothan McKay Marshall (RMM) Diamonds, Sami’s pitching helped her team win the League Opening Tournament and she was a key to her team’s success during the Regular Season.
Sami’s commitment to her team was very evident every time she stepped onto the field and for that reason she was named her team’s Most Outstanding Player as chosen by her teammates.
At the Senior Ladies Provincial Tournament, Sami helped her team win the Gold Medal. On the mound, she went a perfect 4-0, in 26 innings pitched she surrendered 18 earned runs, finished with a 4.85 earned run average and fanned 25 batters. At the dish, she went 12-for-26 for a .462 batting average, scored 8 runs, hit 5 doubles and collected 8 RBI.
Sami is also a registered umpire and during this past summer she umpired both in the Constable William Moss Memorial Softball Tournament and a number of Provincial Minor Tournaments.
