Softball has been included in the Canada Summer Games since the inaugural event held in Halifax/Dartmouth in 1969 as a mixed sport (male and female).
Starting in 1981, the sport was split into a male and a female category.

Newfoundland Labrador have participated in every Canada Summer Games since 1969.

Newfoundland Labrador have participated in seven Canada Games since 1969.
In 54 Games, Newfoundland Labrador have an Overall Record of 34 Wins and 20 Losses.
NL captured two Bronze Medals at the Canada Games, the first in 1997 and the latest in 2005.

Newfoundland Labrador have participated in ten Canada Games since 1969.
In 63 Games, Newfoundland Labrador have an Overall Record of 13 Wins and 50 Losses.
No Medals, highest finish was 7th Place in 1977 and 1989.
Strikeout For Men’s Softball For 2009 Canada Summer Games
Despite many efforts to keep the male category on the program, it was decided to drop the male component of the game for the 2009 Canada Summer Games, but the female category remained included.
Men’s Softball Returning To Canada Summer Games in 2017
The Canada Games Council have released the results of their 2017 Summer Games selection process.
Both Women’s and Men’s Softball were selected for the Games!
