RE: Easing COVID-19 Restrictions
Softball NL Membership,
On Tuesday, February 08, Public Health advised that Newfoundland Labrador will see a further easing of Public Health Measures on Saturday, February 12 and again on Monday, February 14, 2022.
The information pertaining to Team Sports is as follows…
As of 12:01am Monday, February 14, the resumption in Competitive Team Sports within an Organization or Team’s Regular Competitive Schedule is permitted. In terms of team sports, a return to competition that falls within an organization, team or group’s regular competitive schedule can resume. For example, a league that has always been regional in scope, regional competition may be permitted; however, only single games are permitted, with teams playing a maximum of one game per day. Tournaments of any kind are not permitted at this time.
It is also interesting to note that with the further loosening of restrictions, the Alert Level System put in place when COVID-19 first struck nearly two-years ago, and to which most have become familiar, is being abandoned for Updated COVID-19 Measures, which will be clearly posted on the Provincial Government’s COVID-19 website.
Softball NL is excited with the recent announcement from Public Health and hopefully the further loosening of restrictions will continue as the calendar continues to move toward the start of the 2022 Season.
Softball NL commited from Day 1 to make decisions with everyone’s health and safety in mind. Softball NL would like to acknowledge that the decisions were made easier thanks to its Memberships co-operation, patience, support, trust and understanding throughout the entire process of navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic.
