Game Review
Canada (2-0) defeated the Philippines (0-2) 10-0 in 4-Innings at the ISF XIII Men’s World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.
DP Andy Skelton (2-2, 1R, 2RBI), 2B Brandon Horn (2-2, 1R), PH Jason Sanford (1-1, R) and PH Ian Fehrman (1-1, RBI) each had perfect nights at the dish. 1B Brad Ezekiel (1-2, 1R, 1D, 1SAC, 2RBI) and SS Kevin Schellenberg (1-2, 1R, 2RBI) each chipped in with 2RBI, while LF Mathieu Roy (1-3, 1R) and RF Jeff Ellsworth (1-3, 2R, 2RBI) chipped in with singles.
Sean Cleary (1-0) started on the mound for Canada and picked up the win. He pitched two scoreless innings, surrendered one hit (a lead-off infield hit in the Top of the 1st Inning), no walks and fanned three. Don Scott came on in relief and pitched two scoreless innings, surrendered no hits, no walks and fanned three.
Canada scored three runs in the Bottom of the 1st Inning. Ryan Wolfe reached on an error to lead-off the inning, Mathieu Roy reached on a bunt single, Ryan Wolfe advanced to second base on the play, Jeff Ellsworth reached on a fielder’s choice, Mathieu Roy advanced to second base and Ryan Wolfe advanced to third base on the play, Ryan Wolfe scored on an error, Brad Ezekiel laid down a SAC Bunt, Mathieu Roy advanced to third base and Jeff Ellsworth advanced to second base and Brad Ezekiel was out 2-4 on the play and With 1-Out: Andy Skelton singled to score Mathieu Roy and Jeff Ellsworth.
