Mechanics School & Refresher Clinic
Jeff Whipple, Softball Canada’s National Director of Umpires, was in St. John’s, NL this weekend to conduct the Softball Canada National Mechanics School Course and the Softball Canada National Umpires Refresher Clinic, both held at St. Paul’s Junior High School.
The Fredericton, NB native was recently reappointed as Softball Canada’s National Director of Umpires through the 2017 season!
Whipple started umpiring in 1986 and in 1997 he received his Level V and ISF Certification.
On the National Softball scene, he has served as UIC and DUIC at 8 Canadian Championships.
Internationally, he served on the Umpire and Rules Commission at the 2013 ISF Congress (Cartagena, CO), served as Assistant UIC at the 2014 ISF Junior Men’s World Championships (Whitehorse, YK) and in 2015 will serve as Assistant UIC at the WBSC Men’s World Championships (Saskatoon, SK).
