Newfoundlanders Named To U23 Men’s National Team Selection Camp

On Friday, September 10 Softball Canada announced the list of 24-athletes who will attend the U23 Men’s National Teams Selection Camp from September 30 to October 03 in Saskatoon, SK.

4 of the 24 athletes are from Newfoundland Labrador!

Marcus Pittman (Fox Harbour), Jordan Pomeroy (Placentia), Liam Shea (Placentia) and Mark Stack (Petty Harbour) were among the 24 athletes selected by the U23 Men’s National Team Coaching Staff – Head Coach Doug Allin (Peachland, BC) and Assistant Coaches Dean Holoien (Melfort, SK) and Mark Quinn (Mermaid, PEI) – following regional ID Camps and scouting at the 2021 Rawlings Gram Slam Softball Championship held in Saskatoon from September 02-05.

Team Canada is scheduled to compete at the Pan American Continental Qualifier in Colombia in early 2022. The Top 4 Teams will then compete in the inaugural U23 Men’s Softball World Cup in Argentina in November 2022.
