Aurora Keats (2010-2025)
It is with unimaginable sadness that the family of Aurora Keats announce her tragic passing on March 10, 2025.
Aurora, named for the Northern Lights, brought light and colour wherever she went. Her smile lit up every room, her kindness and encouragement lifted every spirit, and her bubbly personality warmed every heart she encountered. She has been consistently described as good, sweet, intelligent, confident, and loving her entire life. Her passion for gymnastics, volleyball and softball led her to many competitions and tournaments where she excelled at both sport and cheering on her teammates. She was an avid volunteer at Airials Gymnastics Club in Gander where she jumped at any chance to support and encourage the younger gymnasts and became a natural leader.
As a friend, she was always there for whoever needed her – for an adventure, a laid back hangout, to get a chai latte or just a text message to let them know she was there. Her close circle of friends and cousins reaches across the province and the country. They all loved her immeasurably, and acknowledged how lucky they were to have her in their lives. There wasn’t a person who met her who wasn’t immediately drawn to her inner light. “Don’t ever change”, she was told.
Aurora leaves to grieve, her parents Heather and Wes, her brother Pearson, her grandparents Sandra, Wade and Vonne, Aunt Stephaine (Brian), first cousins Bailee, Tayler and Dustin, along with countless other cousins, great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, friends and chosen family.
From her family and friends, to the gymnastics and sports communities, there will always be a dark spot that her light used to shine upon. Everyone who knew her will forever miss her gentle yet vivacious soul; there will forever be a hole in their hearts, their lives, their worlds. Aurora you are so loved.
