Softball Canada Names 2023 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool

Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of thirty-two (32) athletes who have been named to the 2023 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool. The list was put together by the current Men’s National Team coaching staff.

“With the recent announcement of the WBSC World Cup Group Stage and Finals being awarded to Prince Albert, the next few years will be imperative as we continue to strive towards our goal of winning the gold medal. There is no better place to achieve this goal than on home soil in front of our Canadian fans,” said Men’s National Team Head Coach John Stuart. “The Team Canada coaching staff is excited about the future of the Men’s National Team program. Congratulations to everyone named to the athlete pool.”

The Athlete Pool includes fourteen (14) returning players from the recent 2022 WBSC Men’s World Cup silver medal team and fifteen (15) current or former members of the Junior Men’s National Team program.

Team Canada is currently ranked second in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings. Earlier this week, the WBSC announced that Canada will host a 2024 Men’s Softball World Cup Group Stage and the 2025 World Cup Finals in Prince Albert, Sask. A WBSC Americas Pan American Championship is expected to take place in 2023.
