Softball Newfoundland & Labrador held its 50th Anniversary Celebration & 2012 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Friday night at The Royal Canadian Legion In Kelligrews.
The Softball NL Hall of Fame increased from 128 to 136 with the Induction of eight new members, 7 in the Athlete Category and 1 in the Builder Category.

Most Outstanding Players (1987-2012)
At the Softball NL 25th Anniversary Celebration Ross Crocker (1963-1986) and Marg Davis (1963-1986) were named the Most Outstanding Players for the first 25-years.
With Softball NL celebrating its 50th Anniversary it was only fitting that the Most Outstanding Players for the second 25-years be announced along with the Hall of Fame Inductees. Colin Abbott (1987-2012) and Ward Gosse (1987-2012) were both recognized as the Most Outstanding Players for the second 25-years.

Along with the 2012 Hall of Fame Inductions and the Most Outstanding Player Awards (1987-2012), Softball NL presented the Senior Male and Female and Junior Male and Female Players of the Year Awards to four deserving individuals.

Life-Time Commitment Award
Softball NL recognized William J. Barron with a Life-Time Commitment Award for his 50-plus years of dedication and passion for the great game of softball. Bill Barron has indeed dedicated his life to softball and it is only fitting that he be presented with the Life-Time Commitment Award.
