Shane Boland (Goulds, NL) has accomplished something that no other Canadian Softballer has accomplished in one season and that is being a member of an ISC Men’s World Fastball Tournament Championship Team, a U21 Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship Team and a Senior Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship Team!

Kelly’s Pub Junior Canadians Strike Gold In Owen Sound!
From August 6th to August 12th, Shane Boland helped lead his NL Kelly’s Pub Junior Canadians to the 2012 U21 Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship in Owen Sound, ON. He appeared in all 11 of his teams games; all at the shortstop position and finished the tournament with the following stats: 11-24 .458BA, 7R, 5D, 1T, 1HR, 1SAC, 2HBP, 9BB, 11RBI. Boland was Named the Player of the Game in the Championship Game.

With Gold Medal in hand from the Junior Nationals, Boland was on the road, this time to join brother Ryan (Boland) and fellow Newfoundlander Sean Cleary at the 2012 ISC World Tournament in Midland, MI.

Jarvis Travelers 2012 ISC World Champions!
The 2012 ISC World Tournament was held from August 10th to August 18th in Midland, MI. Shane Boland joined the Jarvis Travelers from Jarvis, ON after helping lead NL to the 2012 U21 Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship in Owen Sound, ON. The young 21-year old Goulds, NL native would have a different role with the Jarvis Travelers, but still contributed to the teams success nonetheless. He missed his teams first two-games, but appeared in four of his teams remaining six games. In his four games, Boland was utilized in the outfield, in the infield and as a pinch-runner on a couple of occasions. He finished the tournament with the following stats: 1-6 .167BA, 2R, 1SB, 1BB.

With a Junior Gold Medal and an ISC World Tournament Championship under his belt, Boland returned home to prepare for the 2012 Canadian Senior Men’s Fastpitch Championships which he would be attending as a member of the NL2 3Cheers Pub Bud Light entry from Newfoundland Labrador.

Another Golden Weekend For Shane Boland & Newfoundland Labrador!
From August 28th to September 2nd, Shane Boland and his NL2 3Cheers Pub Bud Light teammates were in Fredericton, NB in search of the Gold Medal that eluded the team in 2011. Boland’s role with the NL2 3Cheers Pub Bud Light entry was somewhere in between his role with the NL Kelly’s Pub Junior Canadians and his role with the Jarvis Travelers. He appeared in 6 of his teams 9 games; all in the outfield and finished the tournament with the following stats: 5-11 .455BA, 4R, 1D, 3HR, 1BB, 5RBI.

After having spent nearly a month away from home, give-or-take a few days, Shane Boland now returns home with some solid stats totals: 17-41 .415BA, 13R, 6D, 1T, 4HR, 1SB, 11BB, 16RBI; three championships (Gold Medals) and a life-time of memories!

Congratulations Shane!

Please Note:
Having researched whether or not a Canadian Softballer has been a member of an ISC Men’s World Fastball Tournament Championship Team, a U21 Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship Team and a Senior Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship Team in the same year, the results came back empty.
