2014 Softball NL Senior Female Player of the Year: Kearney Druken
Kearney Druken was nominated for the 2014 Provinical Senior Female Award by the Coors Light St. John’s Ladies Softball League.
As a member of the Roebothan McKay Marshall (RMM) Diamonds, Kearney helped her team win the season Opening Tournament in June and to a 2nd Place finish during the Regular Season. She also won the Leagues 2014 Golden Glove Award.
The highlight of the season for Kearney was at the Senior Ladies Provincials in Corner Brook where her leadership and versatility led RMM to a perfect 6-0 record enroute to capturing the Provincial Crown. In six games, she went 12-25 for a .480 batting average, with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run and 8 RBI.
Kearney is very active in the local Softball community. She is the President of the Shea Heights Minor Softball Association, she umpired at the Constable William Moss Memorial Softball Tournament and she is a member of the Newfoundland Labrador Umpires Association. This past summer Kearney was successful in attaining her Level III Softball Canada Umpire Status.
