2016 Premier’s Athletic Awards
The 2016 Premier’s Athletic Awards were presented on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Holiday Inn in St. John’s, NL.
114 athletes, representing 26 sports, were presented grants ranging from $500 to $1500 to assist in covering the costs associated with training and competition at the elite level.
The amount each athlete received was dependent on the level of competition in which they are engaged, and their respective accomplishments.
Softballers Rebecca Maher (Petty Harbour) & Mitch Stack (Petty Harbour) were among the 114 recipients to receive the 2016 Premier’s Athletic Awards.

-Represented NL at theU18 Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship.
-Named to the tournament All-Star Team (SS) at U18 Nationals.
-1 of 24 players invited to attend the Junior MNT Development Camp.
-Named to the Softball Canada Junior Men’s National Team 2016 Athlete Pool.
-1 of 11 Nominees for the SportNL Junior Male Athlete of the Year Award.
-SportNL Scholarship Award Recipient.
-Named Softball NL Junior Male Player of the Year.
