Urgent: U18 Men’s & Women’s Provincial Championships
Softball NL wish to remind Membership that the U18 Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships are scheduled for July 29-31.
The deadline to register for the U18 Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships was July 15 (go to www.softballnl.ca/2016-registration-deadlines/). However to date, registration for both tournaments has been poor and Softball NL may be forced to cancel both. To that end, Softball NL has set a FINAL registration deadline of Thursday, July 21 (12-noon) for teams to complete registration, including affiliation with Softball NL, submission of rosters, and payment of all fees. Softball NL will then decide whether or not to go ahead with these tournaments in 2016 and only teams registered at that time will be entered into the schedule. Note that Softball NL will not accept registration unless rosters are included on July 21.
At this time, Softball NL wish to remind ALL Membership of the Athlete Eligibility Policy (www.softballnl.ca/policies/athlete-eligibility-policy-minor/). This policy will be in effect for all Softball NL sanctioned Minor Tournaments (U10 – U18). Before requesting permission to “call-up” players from a lower division in your association to fill a roster, or to “pick-up” players from other associations/clubs for Provincial competition please refer to this policy BEFORE making such requests. The purpose of the policy is to ensure fair competition among community based teams while keeping the game enjoyable for all of our developing athletes.
