2021 Atlantic Canadian Championships Cancelled
To Softball NL Membership
After extensive discussions and careful considerations, the Atlantic Canadian Committee, in consultation with our respective Provincial Organizations, have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Atlantic Championships and the Maritime League Tournaments, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that continues to impact our provinces. Logistical concerns surrounding the uncertainty of the Atlantic Bubble, varying provincial restrictions, venue availability, adequate training/tryout opportunities, and travel/accommodation bookings were also all factors that were considered. Softball NL will be working toward another safe season of softball this summer with a strong focus on league play and potential Provincial Championships.
In 2022, we will see a shift in the age categories from Softball Canada (U15,U17). This means that some of the athletes in the current pools will have another opportunity to continue in Softball NL’s 2022 High Performance Program once we revisit the Provincial Team Program this fall for tryouts. We would like to sincerely thank our members for your understanding and support of this decision.
