Brenda Butt Appointed Adult Slo-Pitch Director

Softball NL President Gary Corbett, on behalf of Softball NL Executive Director Dave Feener, Softball NL Technical Director Mark Nash and the Softball NL Board of Directors, would like to take this opportunity to announce the appointment of Brenda Butt (Mount Pearl) as Softball NL Adult Slo-Pitch Director.

Brenda Butt (Mount Pearl) played softball and captured 3 straight Senior Women’s Fastpitch League Championships (1969, 1970 & 1971). She was also an active umpire for 9-years (1988-1995 & 1997). Her contributions off the field made an impact on the game that is hard to ignore and she paved the way for other females in the game. She served 14-years on the Metro Umpires Association in the following roles – 2nd Vice-President (1990), Vice-President (1991), Secretary (1993), Scheduler (1994-1999) and a duo role as Treasurer/Scheduler (2000-2004). In addition, she also served 12-years on the Softball NL Board of Directors in the following roles – Ladies Director (1997-1998), Registar (1999-2000), Minor Director (2001-2004), Minor Director & Eastern Canadian Director (2005-2007) and Secretary (2008). She also served on Host Committees for National Championships held in St. John’s (2000, 2007 and 2022).

Brenda is also involved with Slo-Pitch at the Adult level and her Leadership and Guidance will serve Softball NL well, as the Association aims to offer opportunities for individuals to continue to play the game of Softball in the Male, Female and Co-Ed Slo-Pitch Divisions.

Softball NL is looking forward to working with Brenda Butt as she returns to the Board of Directors in her new role as Adult Slo-Pitch Director.

Congratulations Brenda!

Yours in Softball,

Gary Corbett
