Softball Newfoundland and Labrador would like to Congratulate Softballer Shane Boland of Goulds on being named one of three Finalists for the Joe Mullins Junior Male Athlete of the Year Award. Congratulations Shane!
Shane Boland, of Goulds, is a star in both the worlds of junior and senior softball and junior hockey. 2010 was Shane’s last year in Minor softball and he had a phenomenal season. Shane has been named All-Star player and MVP numerous times, including the 2010 St. John’s Intermediate Fast Pitch League. His team finished 1st overall in the St. John’s Senior Fast Pitch League, won a gold medal at the St. John’s Senior Fast Pitch St. John’s Day Tournament and a gold medal at the 2010 St. John’s Senior Fast Pitch Provincials. On a National scene, Shane demonstrated great talent by being named All-Star Short stop at the 2010 Midget Fast Pitch Nationals.
