2014 ISF Junior Men’s World Softball Championship

Day 3 Results: Sunday, July 13th, 2014

Team Canada (2-1) edged the United States 9-8 in a thrilling game Sunday night at the Pepsi Softball Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Team Canada held a 5-0 lead after 5-Innings, a 7-1 lead after 6-innings, but the United States scored seven runs in the Top of the 7th Inning to take a 8-7 lead. Team Canada responded in the Bottom of the 7th Inning with a pair of runs. Taylor Schubada led-off the inning with a double to centerfield, Curtis Piecowye singled to score Schubada to tie the game 8-8, Johnathan Baker singled, Piecowye advanced to third base on the play, pinch-hitter Josh Elliot was walked intentionally to load the bases and Tyson Zehr singled to left-field to score Piecowye with the game-winning run.
